A huge well done to Year 10......

Year 10 have displayed true determination to succeed in all areas over the last month. Earlier this month student's received their GCSE modular results which were outstanding in all aspects - students worked so hard and the results are fabulous. The geography department are very proud of every student and the graph below is from the exam board and shows how well our students performed at A*/A.

Earlier this week 27 Y10 geographers spent an exciting 3 days completing challenging outwardbound bound activities at the Hawesend centre in Portinscale, the Lake District. Students were fabulous,they cooperated effectively and were a credit to our school. Some personal highlights of mine .... Master McNutt, "taxi for ...", sticky toffee pudding, the view from Catbells, the washing machine, Hannah's piano playing, Mo's problem solving, Jay's whistling !!, Charlie's wellies (lost found lost) ,Amber and Abbie's amazing canoeing (great leadership Abbie ), the lost paddle, Mr G's muddy foot, seeing a spit on Derwent Water ( I don't think so), Matt's ping pong ball skill, Jay's jedi robe, onesies, pandas, Megan's gossip, the fabulous fires, the local name for the large town on the coast , Caitlin and Emily in the ghyll, the killer midges, Sarah's lost welly (thanks Sarah), Kieran's, Dyl and Jay's excellent leadership, Mo's history comments, Laura's constantly smiling face, Jay A on top of human pyramid, Peter's fabulous shot onto the boat from miles away, the chocolate cake ( very yummy), the boxer run (he he he James!), Hannah falling out of the canoe, Ria's determination and positive attitude, nod dies.. the list could go on and on - thanks Warriors, Pandas and Kabangas you were all fantastic and great fun to be around.  .. ...
