HELP THE KOALAS!

How cute is a koala in mittens? We could not be more smitten!

Only two weeks into 2015 it’s already has our vote as the year’s most adorable picture.

But the reason these cuddly creatures are in cotton gloves is rather more serious than wanting everyone to say “Aaahh”.

They are the victims of the bush fire that raged through South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales earlier this month.

Though hundreds of koalas perished in the blaze these victims were, thankfully, rescued. But not before their paws were badly burnt.

One was a koala given the name Jeremy by the Australian Marine Wildlife Research & Rescue Organisation.
